I know I might be the only one with not great things to say, but I've been going to a dermatologist for over 18 years and this is probably the worst one I've been to. I'm from Houston, so I know excellent quality of medical expertise. Since moving to Lubbock, this was my first dermatology appointment with Dermatology Associates of West Texas. From the reviews, I was looking forward to finding a new dermatologist. For personal reasons, I tried to get an appointment the earliest I could and Lisa Moyers, FNP had the earliest appointment available. I've worked with various FNPs in the past and I was completely comfortable with it. That was until I walked into my appointment. Nurse asked me questions, history, etc. I mentioned I was pregnant and fully aware there wasn't anything oral they could give me. I was there to see if they could suggest a safe topical to use for the time being. Although Ms. Moyers knew I was pregnant, she looked up on her phone a certain medication that hadn't been tested on humans yet, but mentioned it was considered safe in the animal trials... and we could speak with the Dr to get his confirmation. After this awkward encounter, I KNEW this was not the place to be for dermatology service. If that is the type of service you offer your patients, WHY would you even suggest this option to a pregnant mother who is already limited to certain medications. I was literally shock this was even brought up after repeatedly saying how there wasn't much they could help me with. At this point, I just wanted to get out of there. Now, three days after my appointment, my prescription was not sent to the correct pharmacy. Called their office again, sent to the correct pharmacy, but was being processed as a refill which my insurance would not cover because it was "too soon" for a refill. Well, never got my prescription the first time and now I have to wait longer because they have to clear it as a non-refill. Point blank, I still have not received my prescription. I will never recommend or give my service to this dermatology office ever again.
